Join us as a Recovery Worker in Argyll and Bute. We are seeking a Recovery Worker to join the Argyll and Bute Recovery Service on a fixed‑term basis until 31 March 2027. This is a full‑time, 37.5‑hour per week role based in Helensburgh and covering the wider Lomond area. The position is open to applicants seeking part‑time arrangements, which should be stated in the cover letter.
Salary: £26,250 per annum, increasing annually in line with our pay progression salary bands to a maximum of £30,900 per annum. Responsibilities- Provide harm‑reduction support, 1:1 appointments, and small group work to individuals and families aged 18+.
- Manage a caseload of clients and maintain accurate records in digital systems.
- Organise diary, represent the organisation at meetings with the NHS and local partners, and collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team.
- Apply harm‑reduction principles to promote positive change and recovery.
- Participate in training, development and supervision provided by management.
- Preferred: SVQ Level 3 in Social Services or Healthcare (welcoming experience for those willing to obtain the qualification).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and remain calm under pressure.
- Organised, flexible, and eager to learn.
- Computer literate and comfortable using digital systems.
- Driving licence and car are considered an advantage, but not essential.
- Experience in substance‑use recovery or related social care fields is an asset.
