Management Accountant
NLBSolutions are working with an accountancy practice based in Hemel Hempstead looking for a new Management Accountant. The role will offer training for the right candidate with at least 2 years of experience in month-end processes, balance-sheet reconciliations, and some VAT returns. This role will report into managers who created this role due to expansion.
The business offers great offices, development and growth with parking as well. The management team have grown with the business, so we are used to helping new individuals settle and develop in time.
Duties- Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple clients (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis).
- Complete month-end processes including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
- Monitor financial performance and identify risks, trends, and opportunities.
- Produce budgets, forecasts, and financial reports with clear commentary.
- Maintain accurate ledgers and control accounts across client portfolios.
- Liaise directly with clients to understand their business needs and provide ongoing financial support.
- Assist with year-end accounts and onboarding new clients.
- Support continuous improvement of internal processes and reporting templates.
- Provide support with VAT returns, bookkeeping reviews, and other practice-related tasks as required.
- Experience as a Management Accountant or similar finance role (accountancy practice or outsourced environment preferred).
- Strong understanding of management accounting principles and month-end routines.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail across multiple client accounts.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong overall IT literacy.
- Experience using Xero and/or Sage
50 highly desirable. - Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
