Junior Accountant

NLB Solutions are working with a small, growing accountancy practice working primarily with micro-entities, owner managed businesses and individuals. They are seeking a proactive and well-organised Accounts Assistant/Junior Accountant to support the delivery of accounts, tax, bookkeeping and payroll services, while also assisting with practice administration and client management. The business are looking for someone that has 1 or 2 years experience in a practice role that reflects the job spec below.

They have a policy of working in the office on a daily basis and have hours that are 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 4pm on a Friday. They are also have parking and are close to the local amenities.

Duties:

* Tax Compliance

* Bookkeeping

* Payroll & CIS

* Client Management & Communication

* Practice Administration & Operations

* Client handling/managing experience useful.

* Accounts preparation, Corporation Tax, VAT

* Personal tax preparation

Person Spec:

* 1–2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice or similar role.

* Minimum AAT Level 3 (or equivalent) or working towards qualification.

* Strong basic knowledge of accounting and finance principles.

* Good written and verbal communication skills.

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems.

* Highly organised, self-motivated and able to manage multiple deadlines.

* Strong attention to detail and a high level of responsibility.

* Experience using Sage 50, Xero and Tax Calc. Desirable (but not essential)

* Exposure to micro-entity accounts and owner-managed businesses.

* Experience dealing directly with clients
