Position: BOOKKEEPER / JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT – PRIVATE FAMILY OFFICE
We have a new opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join an established UHNW private family office based in Chelsea. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and managing the day-to-day accounting requirements across the family’s personal, household and business interests. The successful candidate will be highly organised, precise and discreet, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities calmly and efficiently.

We’re looking for someone with a strong bookkeeping or accounting background, ideally gained within a private family office, luxury hospitality or similarly high-touch UHNW environment. You’ll be confident working with accounting software and Excel, comfortable liaising with external advisors and household teams, and trusted to handle highly confidential financial information. Above all, this role requires exceptional attention to detail, integrity and a proactive approach.

You’ll work closely with the Family Office Director and wider team to ensure the family’s financial administration runs smoothly and accurately. DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records across multiple entities, including personal accounts, household budgets, trusts and investment vehicles Managing accounts payable and receivable, vendor payments, household staff payroll support and expense reconciliations Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the Principal and Family Office Director Overseeing credit card and bank reconciliations and ensuring transactions are correctly recorded and categorised Liaising with external accountants, tax advisors and legal professionals Monitoring cash flow, forecasting expenditure and supporting budgets across household operations, travel, events and property management Maintaining organised digital and physical financial records in line with best practice and compliance requirements Supporting the Director with ad hoc financial projects, audits and strategic planning Ensuring all financial activity is handled with absolute discretion, accuracy and professionalism ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Minimum 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting, ideally within a private family office, luxury hospitality group or UHNW environment AAT qualified or equivalent bookkeeping/accounting qualification would be advantageous but is not essential;

relevant hands-on experience will be equally considered Strong proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books or Sage, alongside advanced Excel skills Exceptional attention to detail, organisation and accuracy Ability to manage multiple accounts, entities and priorities calmly and efficiently High level of discretion, integrity and confidentiality Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with household staff, external advisors and the Family Office Director Flexible, proactive and able to adapt to changing schedules and requirements Right to work in the UK Strong, verifiable references
