SEN Teacher - KS2

Hemel Hempstead | Full‑Time | September Start

Pertemps Education is proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded Independent SEN School in Hemel Hempstead, seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher to join their team on a full‑time basis from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a nurturing and well‑resourced specialist setting, supporting Key Stage 2 pupils with a range of additional needs.

The school offers exceptionally small class sizes of 3‑6 pupils, allowing teachers to deliver highly personalised learning and make a genuine impact on each child's educational journey.

Interviews are taking place immediately, and the school is keen to appoint the right candidate as soon as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment where pupils can thrive.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and behavioural development.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and families to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Monitor progress against EHCP targets and contribute to reviews and assessments.
  • Foster positive relationships that promote confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
  • Previous experience teaching within an SEN and/or SEMH setting – Essential
  • Strong knowledge of differentiated teaching strategies and inclusive classroom practice
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, or complex learning needs
  • Excellent behaviour management and relationship‑building skills
  • A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
