In this role, you will work closely with students who require additional support with their emotional wellbeing, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. This position provides practical experience working with children and young people presenting with challenges commonly encountered within mental health, educational psychology, counselling, and clinical psychology settings, including anxiety, depression, trauma,ASD , ADHD, Social, SEMH needs, and other additional learning needs.
The school is particularly interested in recent graduates and aspiring mental health professionals who are eager to begin their careers while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
Job Role :
School Mental Health Assistant, Hemel Hempstead
* Providing 1:1 support and delivering small-group interventions to support emotional wellbeing, confidence, and engagement
* Building positive and trusting relationships to encourage emotional growth and resilience
* Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
* Assisting with wellbeing and emotional regulation interventions
* Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to support student progress
* Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting effective coping strategies
Job Requirements :

* A Psychology degree or relevant educational background is desirable
* Availability to work during school hours, Monday to Friday
