Are you an experienced SEND Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity within a small, specialist provision?

Our partner primary school in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a creative, committed and enthusiastic teacher to join its dedicated SEND hub. This full-time position involves supporting children with severe learning difficulties and a range of complex and multiple needs.

• Supporting primary-aged pupils with complex and multiple needs
• Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons
• Developing learning around pupils’ individual starting points, needs and EHCP outcomes
• Helping every child make meaningful progress and reach their individual potential
• Working closely with support staff, families and other professionals
• Suitable for a qualified teacher with previous experience of specialist SEND provision
• Previous experience supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties is essential

This is a two-form-entry community primary school with a morning nursery and extensive outdoor grounds. The school describes its approach as one that promotes opportunities for pupils to become confident, independent and lifelong learners.

The school was judged Good in all areas following its March 2022 Ofsted inspection. Inspectors highlighted the close partnership between leaders, staff, governors and the local authority in improving the education and opportunities available to pupils and families.

• Previous teaching experience within a specialist SEND provision
• Proven experience supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties
• A secure understanding of how to adapt teaching for children with complex and multiple needs
• Creative and engaging approaches to curriculum planning

• Strong communication and collaborative working skills

This role offers the opportunity to teach within a small SEND hub where learning can be carefully planned around each pupil’s individual needs. It would particularly suit a teacher who values personalised education, enjoys working collaboratively and understands that progress for pupils with SLD may take many different forms.
