The Role
You will deliver engaging English lessons that encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking, helping students develop the literacy skills and confidence they need both inside and outside the classroom.
Your
Key Responsibilities
Design engaging schemes of work that bring literature and language to life
Challenge students through varied teaching strategies that meet a range of learning needs
Use assessment effectively to inform planning and raise attainment
Support students in developing independent learning and strong analytical skills
Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as reading initiatives, writing competitions, or theatre visits
Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to promote academic and personal success
Play an active role within the English department and contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives
About You
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Has experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is welcomed but not essential)
Demonstrates a passion for literature and language with the ability to inspire learners of all abilities
Has excellent organisational skills and a reflective approach to teaching
Works collaboratively and contributes positively to the wider school community
