We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified SEND Teacher to join our Additional Resource Provision (ARP) from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to teach small groups of pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), providing tailored learning experiences that enable every child to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
The ARP supports children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, with class sizes of approximately 8–10 pupils, allowing you to build strong relationships and deliver truly personalised teaching.
The Role
As our SEND Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of additional needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
ADHD
Communication and interaction needs
You will create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom where children feel safe, valued and motivated to learn. Working closely with support staff, therapists and families, you will help pupils develop academically while building confidence, independence and essential life skills.
The role includes supporting pupils with personal care, so applicants must be comfortable and willing to undertake this as part of their responsibilities.
We are looking for someone who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential).
Has experience teaching children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Is passionate about inclusive education and achieving the best outcomes for every child.
Can deliver creative, engaging and highly differentiated lessons.
Has a patient, caring and nurturing approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
Is adaptable, resilient and able to respond to the varying needs of children.
Enjoys creating hands-on, interactive learning opportunities that promote engagement and independence.
Desirable Experience & Skills
Experience with the following would be highly advantageous:
Makaton
PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
Sensory integration or sensory-based learning approaches
Supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Experience with in an ARP, specialist provision or SEN setting
