Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engineering Operations

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, ensuring continuous access to cloud services for customers worldwide.

The successful candidate will oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure in AWS Data Centers, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations.

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment (UPS, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, VFDs, Transformers).
• Manage safety programs, conduct risk remediation, and lead safety initiatives.
• Interpret and conduct routine operational readings (temperatures, voltages, currents).
• Supervise contractors and coordinate service and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot events within SLA limits and document findings.
• Work shifts (morning, late, night) and participate in on‑call rotation.
• Perform manual handling and lifting of equipment as required.

• Relevant work experience.
• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, Controls) and key electrical competencies.

• Experience in data center engineering.
• At least 2 years of data center engineering operations experience.
