Overview

Glenelly Infrastructure Solutions is part of the United Infrastructure Group, delivering specialist infrastructure services across the utilities sector.

The Role

Commercial Manager – responsible for managing the commercial performance of utility and cable joining projects across the UK, ensuring robust commercial governance, contractual compliance, and effective cost control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial management of utility and cable joining projects from tender through to final account.
  • Manage NEC and other standard forms of contract.
  • Oversee valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs, profitability, and commercial risk.
  • Provide commercial support and guidance to operational delivery teams.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Support procurement and subcontract management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and contractual obligations.
  • Produce accurate commercial reporting and forecasts for senior management.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.
About You

We are looking for a commercially focused professional with experience within utilities, power, civil engineering, or infrastructure environments.

Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor role.
  • Experience with in utilities, cable joining, power distribution, or infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline.
  • Experience working within DNO or IDNO frameworks.
