I'm currently working with a well-established structural engineering consultancy based in Hemel Hempstead that is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join its growing team.

With a strong reputation across the residential sector, the business delivers a broad range of projects including bespoke residential properties, large-scale housing developments, apartment schemes, and mixed-use developments for a loyal and expanding client base. The Role

As a Structural Engineer, you'll be involved in the design and delivery of a variety of projects from concept through to completion, working closely with developers, architects, contractors, and private clients to provide practical and efficient engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

Producing structural calculations, reports, and technical drawings

Assisting with the design and delivery of residential and mixed-use projects

Attending client and design team meetings

Coordinating with architects, contractors, and external consultants

Working alongside senior engineers on larger schemes

Supporting junior technicians where appropriate

Contributing to project delivery across multiple schemes

Project Portfolio

You'll gain exposure to a variety of schemes including:

Residential developments

Housing and apartment schemes

High-end private residential projects

Extensions and refurbishments

Mixed-use developments

Occasional commercial and education projects

Requirements

2-7 years' experience within a UK structural engineering consultancy

Strong technical design experience across steel, concrete, timber, and masonry

Experience working on residential-led projects

Good communication and organisational skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Ambitious and motivated to progress your career

Working towards Chartership, or with aspirations to become Chartered
