You'll be joining a team of specialist engineers and hydrologists who work on major residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments across the UK.

The Role

As a Senior Hydrologist / Flood Modeller, you'll take the lead in assessing, designing, and delivering hydrological solutions that support sustainable land development and water management. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor junior staff, support business development, and shape technical strategy within the hydrology team.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare Flood Risk Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) chapters, and outline drainage strategies.

Contribute to and review concept and detailed drainage designs.

Apply hydrological and hydraulic modelling software to support flood modelling and design activities.

Advise on flood risk policy, water quality improvements, and sustainable drainage design.

Manage project timelines, budgets, and client relationships effectively.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and hydrologists.

Stay up to date with legislation, design standards, and best practices in flood risk management.

About You

Strong experience delivering Flood Risk Assessments, SuDS, and hydrology reports.

Proficient in software such as Flood Modeller, TuFLOW, HEC-RAS, FEH, and WINFAP-FEH.

Familiar with AutoCAD, WinDES, and ideally ground modelling tools (e.g., PDS).

Excellent report writing, communication, and team collaboration skills.

Capable of managing multiple projects and mentoring junior team members.

Why Apply?

Competitive salary and performance-related bonus.

Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.

Ongoing professional development and mentoring.

Involvement in diverse, high-profile projects across the UK.

Supportive, collaborative, and knowledge-sharing team culture.

If you're ready to take the next step in your hydrology career and join a consultancy that values innovation, technical excellence, and work-life balance, we'd love to hear from you.
