We have an exciting vacancy for a Senior Revit Technician based at our Hemel Hempstead office in Hertfordshire. This is a full‑time permanent role working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week in the office with the option to work hybrid in the future.
Our structural engineers create, improve and develop the built environment using sound engineering principles and a broad knowledge base. Glanville employs 30 technical staff in two structural departments based in the Hemel Hempstead and Didcot offices.
Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio we are seeking an experienced BIM Technician to join our Structural Engineering team in Hemel Hempstead.
Our team delivers a diverse range of projects across commercial, R&D, energy and residential sectors, spanning both new‑build and refurbishment schemes. Working collaboratively with civil engineering, traffic and transport, building surveying and geomatics teams, we deliver coordinated, high‑quality solutions throughout every stage of project delivery.
This role offers the opportunity to take a leading position in developing our BIM capability while remaining hands‑on in project delivery. You will support structural engineering design through digital innovation, anticipate design challenges, develop practical solutions and help project teams adopt the most effective tools and technologies.

Duties & Responsibilities- Produce accurate technical engineering drawings, working in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Liaise with engineers, architects, the design team and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to required standards.
- Work largely unsupervised and on own initiative, demonstrating good self‑motivation and productivity.
- Attend technical meetings with external design teams and assist in technical aspects of projects, ensuring drawings and design information are prepared satisfactorily.
- Support senior staff in their duties.
- Assist with preparation of fee proposals, including accurate estimation of time required for each work item.
- Manage the workload of junior staff on a day‑to‑day basis, delegating tasks and providing coaching/mentoring.
- Identify and proactively address training needs of junior staff.
- Seek professional membership at an appropriate level (e.g. Eng Tech/TIStructE).
- Assist the business with its marketing strategy to promote services, projects and expertise through platforms including social media.
- Improve internal systems, standards, software and working practices.
- Attend site visits when required.
- Be proactive and responsive to key issues.
- Explore new/innovative practices that will benefit the design team/process.
- Work closely with other team members and report to the project director.
- Enhance and promote Glanville Consultants’ image through actions.
- Professionally represent the company.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the wider engineering context of designs, drawings and 3D models, and awareness of structural engineering and building detailing.
- Proficient in CAD and Revit, with excellent knowledge of BIM and its application in building and structural designs.
- Experience developing and assisting with project CAD & BIM procedures and quality control. Awareness of UK industry BIM standards, protocols and procedures is ideal.
