About the Role
A Meaningful and Supportive Role:
Please note:
a driver with access to their own car is required due to the client’s location. You will not be required to drive the client.
We are supporting a lady in her 70s who has a spinal cord injury and is paralysed in her lower limbs.
She also has a stoma
. With the right support, she is keen to build her upper body strength back up again, regain confidence and work towards being more active in her day-to-day life.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys building a consistent relationship with one client and supporting both clinical care and independence at home.
The role will involve personal care
, stoma-related support,
pressure area care
, day-to-day assistance, and rehab-focused encouragement
, including physio exercises
, stretches and support with gradually increasing activity,
PA-style support may also be included.
Consistency and reliability will be important for this package.
You will be supported by Paragon’s clinical and operational team, working to a structured care plan.
What We’re Looking For- Experience in spinal and/or brain injury care ABI, neurological conditions, tracheostomy, ventilation, PEG, bowel care, or similar experience where possible.
- Comfortable supporting personal care and stoma-related needs
- Female carers preferred for personal care
- Reliable, observant, and proactive
- Able to encourage rehab, movement, stretches and independence
- Practical and confident with day-to-day support and PA-type tasks
- Own transport or reliable travel arrangements essential
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Female carer required due to the need to provide personal care (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part
1).We welcome applications from female carers who are kind, dependable and confident supporting someone in their own home. You don’t need spinal injury experience – just a willingness to learn, a common-sense approach and the ability to follow the client’s lead.
Shifts are usually between 2-4 weeks live-in at a time, which may shift slightly while things are being established. Alternatively, if eligible, you can be a part of our Standby rota, working conveniently from home.
Pay rate: £161.35/day
Travel allowance: Competitive travel allowance per placement
Food allowance: Competitive food allowance per day
Live-In Care Responsibilities- Assist with personal care, mobility, meal prep, and daily living activities.
- Provide support with spinal injury care and encourage independence.
- Observe and record the client's health status.
- Ensure the client's safety.
- Arrange transportation for client appointments.
- Notify client of changes in medications.
- Maintain client confidentiality.

Essential – the client goes out every day and carers need to drive the client's adapted vehicle and must have clean driver's licence. You must be a driver and happy to help with regular community outings.
Training & SupportParagon is a specialist provider of spinal cord injury and complex care. You’ll receive full training before you start, and where possible, time will be given to get familiar with the care routine. No previous experience with spinal care is needed.
