Infrastructure Engineer - DV Cleared

Role Overview

We are seeking a DV-cleared Infrastructure Engineer to support the design, build, integration, and maintenance of secure on-premise IT infrastructure within a Defence and National Security environment.

This is a hands-on contract role, working within highly secure systems and to hardened build standards, supporting mission-critical platforms and services.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, integrate, test, and maintain secure on-premise IT infrastructure solutions.

Specify, deploy, and support Windows Server and Desktop environments, including repeatable operating system builds using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) or equivalent tools.

Implement hardware platforms and operating systems in line with hardened security build standards.

Deliver Windows Server OS and Active Directory domain upgrades and migrations.

Define, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Microsoft Active Directory Group Policy.

Implement, configure, and upgrade SAN storage solutions, including version migrations.

Deploy and manage VMware virtualisation infrastructure.

Integrate infrastructure with enterprise services such as:

Monitoring and alerting tools

Patch and update management platforms

Anti-virus and endpoint security solutions

Conduct vulnerability and compliance activities using recognised scanning tools.

Design, build, and deploy Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions.

Produce and maintain High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation and detailed build guides.

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on experience delivering infrastructure solutions in secure Defence or National Security environments.

Proven experience working with:

Windows Server & Desktop

Microsoft Active Directory & Group Policy

VMware virtualisation

SAN storage technologies

Experience implementing and operating systems to hardened build and security standards.

Familiarity with vulnerability assessment and compliance scanning tools.

Experience designing and deploying PKI infrastructure.

Ability to produce clear, structured technical documentation.

Active UKSV DV clearance (mandatory).

Additional Information

Role is based in Hemel Hempstead; on-site attendance will be required in line with security constraints.
