Warehouse Manager

Overview

This role is responsible for leading day-to-day warehouse operations within a busy panel distribution environment. The Warehouse Manager ensures goods are received, stored, handled, and dispatched safely, efficiently, and accurately, maintaining compliance with company standards, health and safety regulations, and customer requirements.

• Operational Leadership: Oversee daily warehouse activities including goods in/out, storage, and dispatch. Ensure efficient workflow, space utilisation, and adherence to processes and safety standards.
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate stock records, conduct regular counts, and manage replenishment to minimise stock loss and support operational accuracy.
• Team Management: Lead and develop a warehouse team, managing recruitment, training, performance reviews, and staff scheduling to maintain effective resourcing and morale.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce safety policies, carry out regular inspections, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with IOSH and other regulatory requirements.
• Equipment & Maintenance: Oversee maintenance of forklifts, racking, and related equipment, ensuring safe and compliant operation.
• Quality & Cost Control: Monitor goods quality, manage consumables and budgets, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with transport, sales, and operations teams to meet customer delivery schedules and address any inventory or supply chain issues.

• Proven experience in a warehouse management or supervisory role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and logistics.
• IOSH qualification or strong understanding of H&S compliance.
• Analytical, proactive, and solutions‑focused approach to continuous improvement.
