Location: Piccotts End

Neighbourhood Officer Temporary Contract (1 month initially but likely to be extended) Salary: £36,255 per annum / £18.84 per hour plus holiday pay

Hours:

37 hours per week (Monday to Thursday – 9am – 5.30pm, Friday 9am – 5pm) Hybrid: around 3 days at home and 2 days in office We are seeking a Neighbourhood Officer to join our team on a temporary basis to cover a period of sickness. This role is essential in delivering key housing services, including allocations and lettings, tenancy management, and managing anti-social behaviour within the community.

Day-to-day of the role:
Responsible for the delivery of tenancy and estate management services, including the allocation and letting of empty homes and management of mutual exchanges. Address anti-social behaviour in line with association policies and procedures, collaborating with community and statutory/non-statutory agencies. Participate in County Court hearings for injunction and possession as required. Work closely with the Tenancy Support Team to ensure tenancy sustainment and improve life opportunities for tenants.

Collaborate with the Income Recovery Team to maximise the association’s income and undertake visits to tenants in arrears as part of the income recovery process. Provide tenants and prospective tenants with advice and assistance on basic welfare benefits to maximise household income. Lead on resident consultations and work with various agencies to develop good neighbourhood relations. Ensure compliance with Safeguarding of Adults & Children legislation, taking appropriate legal action against tenancies to safeguard other tenants and the public.

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Experience in tenancy agreements, contract and housing legislation. Driving licence and access to a car Understanding of the roles of landlord and tenant. Knowledge of welfare benefits relevant to tenants in social housing. Proven experience in customer service, both face-to-face and over the phone. Experience in multi-agency/partnership working. Desirable: CIH approved housing qualification or working towards one. Must have a driving licence and use of own vehicle with business use on insurance policy.
