The Role

As an Assistant Service Finder, you will play a key role in sourcing and commissioning a wide range of social care services for adults across Hertfordshire, based on assessed needs. You will help ensure individuals can access the right support as quickly as possible, while also supporting providers to deliver services efficiently and be paid on time.

This role is a core function within a developing brokerage and commissioning service, contributing to business continuity, commissioning capacity, and improved outcomes for residents.

You will primarily work with internal Adult Social Care teams and liaise with external providers via email, telephone, and Microsoft Teams. The role involves following established operational procedures accurately and within required timescales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and commission social care services in line with assessed needs
  • Work closely with Adult Care Services teams (community and hospital), Finance, and Commissioning colleagues
  • Liaise with care providers and external partners to secure appropriate services
  • Maintain accurate records and follow business processes
  • Support the delivery and development of commissioning processes
  • Manage a varied workload, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines
Essential About you

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to travel to an office base
Desirable
  • Experience of working with people who have learning disability, autism, and/or physical disability and a good understanding of what their support may look like
  • Relevant qualification and/or experience in Social Care
  • Knowledge or experience of systems such as Acsis and/or eBrokerage

This is an entry‑level opportunity where you can make a real difference to people’s lives. You will gain valuable experience working with a range of professionals, providers, and partner organisations.

We will develop your knowledge of social care assessment and referral processes, an understanding of the social care provider market, and insight into commissioning, contracts, and purchasing arrangements.

You must currently reside in the UK and have established proof of right to work. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
