Job Description & How to Apply Below

Hemel Hempstead | Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite (flexibility available)

Here at Burns Sheehan, we're partnering with a highly reputable, PE-backed business that is investing in its data platform and looking to hire an experienced Data Engineer to join a small, highly capable team.

The business has already built a strong modern data foundation, with Snowflake at its core, AI-assisted development embedded into its workflows, and a growing suite of internal data applications supporting key business functions.

With exciting projects ahead spanning predictive forecasting, dynamic pricing, workforce optimisation and customer analytics, this is a great opportunity for an engineer who wants genuine ownership and the chance to influence technical decisions.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Designing, building and optimising robust data pipelines across AWS and Snowflake.
  • Developing reliable, well-tested data models with a strong focus on accuracy, reconciliation and governance.
  • Taking ownership of engineering solutions, from initial design through to delivery.
  • Working closely with business stakeholders, challenging requirements and proposing better technical solutions.
  • Contributing to architectural decisions and presenting technical trade-offs to senior leadership.
  • Exploring AI-assisted development and emerging Snowflake capabilities, including Cortex.
What We're Looking For:
  • Strong commercial experience with AWS, Snowflake, dbt, SQL and Python.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, testing and reconciliation.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership in a lean engineering environment.
  • Confident stakeholder communication and a pragmatic, problem-solving mindset.
  • An interest in AI-assisted engineering and modern data tooling.

This is an opportunity to join a business where you'll have a real say in how the data platform evolves, working on projects directly linked to commercial performance rather than simply maintaining existing pipelines.

Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available.
