This is a key leadership position, combining hands-on engineering expertise with responsibility for supporting, guiding, and developing a skilled team of technicians, ensuring our fleet remains safe, compliant, and fully serviceable.
** What We Offer*** £26.00 per hour basic rate
* Overtime paid at £39.00 per hour (time and a half)
* Full-time, permanent contract
* 5 out of 7 working pattern
* Initial Monday to Friday shifts, operating between 05:00 and 01:30, on a rotating early and late shift pattern

** The Role
** You will play a vital role in the day-to-day performance of the depot by leading engineering activity and ensuring all maintenance and repair work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading, supporting, and motivating a team of engineers and fitters
* Carrying out diagnostics, inspections, and repairs on PCV vehicles
* Allocating work and monitoring performance against safety, quality, and service targets
* Ensuring full compliance with DVSA, Health & Safety, and Arriva standards
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records and depot systems
* Supporting the Engineering Manager with training, mentoring, and apprentice development
** What We’re Looking For
*** NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
* Previous experience in a Chargehand, Supervisory, or Senior Technician role
* Strong knowledge of PCV or HGV mechanical systems
* Confident communicator with proven leadership capability
* Flexible approach to working hours, including early, late, and weekend shifts
* PCV license desirable, but not essential
