Product Manager, General Chemicals

Our team in Henderson currently has an opening for a Product Manager, General Chemicals

• Construct and once approved, implement BMS strategy for our General Chemicals portfolio: sourcing, preferred suppliers, growth targets, consultative sales approach, etc.
• Full responsibility for supplier management and interface
• Responsible for GP, sales & growth of defined product categories within BMS:
• Actively support the sales team to create distinction between BMS and competition:
• Act as the BMS product expert and drive market development
• Manage, drive, and help execute opportunity pipelines
• Attend and participate in sales and sourcing meetings when necessary
• Publish monthly updates on market dynamics, new issues, etc.
• Support Corporate or Key Account Bid Teams
• Clearly understand General Chemical market dynamics
• Define floor and target prices for BMS managed products
• Identify new opportunities based on customer needs and market changes (communicate accordingly)
• Launch new product lines and manage expectation
• Implement & hold the buying team accountable for purchasing strategies
• Ensure strategy compliance for selected suppliers in collaboration with BNA Product Managers
• Constantly search for and execute margin optimization opportunities
• Execute efficient inventory strategies with the inventory management team
• Design, implement and ensure maintenance of business metrics that support the attainment of key business objectives.
• Demonstrate and facilitate open and honest communication within the department and with employees at all levels of the company. Communicate regularly with peers across the company and within the department on appropriate matters.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Ability to work under pressure to find effective win/win/win solutions (BMS, suppliers and customers)

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required
• Preference may be given to candidates who possess a graduate degree.
• 10 to 15 years of professional experience in product management within the chemical or chemical distribution sector preferably in the chemical industry or at least B2B.
• A solid track record of achieving revenue and gross profit growth targets.
