Base Pay Range: $18.32/hr - $18.33/hr

Job Description:

Perform semi‑skilled manual labor and equipment operation in the installation, repair, and maintenance of water lines, wastewater lines, stormwater lines, and related utility system components.

• Assist in maintaining and repairing water, wastewater, and stormwater lines and related system components.
• Perform various manual labor functions associated with system projects (pour concrete, break concrete, raise/lower manholes, dig trenches, shoveling, lifting/moving heavy materials).
• Operate equipment such as utility truck, dump truck, end loader, tapping machine, blacktop tamper, air compressor, jack hammer, pipe wrench, pipe cutter, concrete saw, chain saw, grinder, post driver, shovel, pick axe, rake, broom.
• Operate wash truck, vacuum truck, rotor‑rooter machine to clear lines.
• Complete assigned training, safety training, basic traffic control; change hanger‑heads on copper‑setters; repair lawns, sidewalks, roads after projects.
• Maintain crew truck, tools, trailer; keep inventory and supplies; perform safety inspections; report hazards; maintain personal safety equipment.
• Respond to emergencies on call; maintain good public relations; maintain availability 24/7.

• Valid CDL with appropriate endorsements; if not held, obtain CDL within 6 months and license within 12 months of hire.
• Experience operating forklift (Fork truck certification may be required).
• Experience or training in construction labor or maintenance work on water and wastewater conveyance and/or collection lines (desired).
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, pull 20-100 pounds; ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
• Basic math, data utilization, verbal aptitude, functional reasoning.
