Position: Clerical Receptionist 1

Job Title: Clerical Receptionist

Department: Pension (Las Vegas)

Reports To: Tracy Thompson

Job Duties:

  • Answer phone calls; greet, identify, and assign participant/retiree inquiries to appropriate staff.
  • Open, date‑stamp, log, count, and distribute mail daily.
  • Coordinate appointments with pension processors; perform clerical duties (typing, filing, copying, microfilm and microfiche research, etc.).
  • Keep reception area stocked with forms and booklets.
  • Assist retirees with address changes, stop payment orders, and direct deposit inquiries.
  • Assist in completing income forms from various agencies.
  • Assist in processing Annual Certification Letters.
  • Cut checks.
  • Document in ETK system as required.
  • Meet department quality and production standards as outlined on the work standards grid.

Job Requirements:

  • HS or GED.
  • Minimum one year experience as a Receptionist in a professional office.
  • Bilingual required.

Mental/Visual Concentration or Manual Dexterity:

Requires normal concentration; easily learned simple movements.

Computer Operations:

  • PC literate.
  • General knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Typing score of 35 WPM; general knowledge of 10‑key.

Physical Work Environment:

  • Normal degree of physical effort in typical office environment with comfortable, constant temperatures and absence of objectionable elements.
  • May be subject to interruptions.
  • May be required to lift a maximum of 25 lbs.
  • Meets established attendance and punctuality guidelines.

Salary: Grade 2

Testing Requirements:

  • Pre‑employment test for new hires to ZAS.
  • Typing test.
  • MS Word, Excel and 10‑key proficiency.
