Barrick is searching for an experienced Category Manager to join our Global Supply Chain organization located in Henderson, Nevada. The position may require travel to domestic and international sites. The Category Manager will be responsible for implementing, continuously improving, and executing Barrick’s sourcing and contracting strategy within specified product and service categories. This includes building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers, performing spend analysis across the enterprise, and providing recommendations that add value and drive cost savings.

• Manage supply contracts, pricing, and vendor performance for mining commodities such as explosives, tires, fuels, lubricants, drilling, and OEM equipment.
• Identify and address gaps or breaches to contract commitments and terms.
• Execute price management and track category‑related market indices to identify trends affecting mine site activities and budgeted spend.
• Set strategic sourcing goals and strategies to support corporate objectives and site‑level commitments.
• Manage contract requirements and KPIs with internal stakeholders and develop suppliers to meet commercial and operational needs.
• Implement strategic sourcing methodologies such as benchmark analysis, low‑cost‑country sourcing, and contract negotiation techniques.
• Perform supplier relationship management, including performance metrics, safety reporting, stakeholder satisfaction, and product/technology innovation.
• Prepare and evaluate bids, negotiate contracts, manage sourcing events, and close out contracts.
• Develop and mentor indirect reports within the supply chain organization.
• Comply with mining safety and loss‑prevention procedures and Barrick’s social responsibility policy.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6 to 8 years of directly related procurement experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Mining experience preferred.
• Relevant category experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Knowledge of Oracle, SAP, Ellipse, or equivalent enterprise‑level software packages.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Must be willing to relocate to Henderson, NV.
