Overview

This position involves teaching at Touro University Nevada and fulfilling duties that support the mission of the department, college, and university through student education, scholarly activities, and service.

Faculty are encouraged to engage in original research and seek extramural funding. This is a 12-month appointment focused on teaching and clinical responsibilities, with opportunities for research and institutional service.

Located in Henderson, Nevada, near Las Vegas, Touro University Nevada is a non-profit institution dedicated to healthcare and education, emphasizing intellectual pursuit and service to humanity.

Responsibilities
  • Educational Role
    • Develop and deliver content in collaboration with Program Directors and Department Chairs, ensuring standards meet accreditation and university requirements.
    • Maintain expertise within the discipline and contribute to curriculum development and delivery.
    • Ensure teaching is current, relevant, and builds upon previous learning experiences.
    • Collaborate within the department and with external entities to enhance curricula.
    • Utilize various teaching and assessment methods, including simulation, online learning, and interactive scenarios.
  • Clinical Duties
    • Provide medical services adhering to standards of care, documentation, billing, and compliance.
    • Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing education and professional memberships.
    • Practice within Nevada licensure and scope, ensuring high-quality patient care.
    • Mentor students in clinical settings, ensuring their development and performance.
  • Research
    • Develop and implement research projects, seek funding, and prepare manuscripts.
    • Present research locally, nationally, and internationally.
    • Foster interdepartmental research collaborations.
  • University Engagement
    • Build partnerships and promote the university at various events.
    • Coordinate media and legislative interactions through the Office of Advancement.
    • Serve on university committees, contribute to accreditation efforts, and adhere to institutional policies.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education
    : DO or MD, Nevada license, board certification in primary care, US citizenship or permanent residency.

    Experience
    :
    Teaching experience in osteopathic or medical schools, research productivity, and knowledge of biological sciences and medicine.

    Skills & Abilities
    :
    Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to manage clinical practice efficiently, utilize electronic medical records, and demonstrate leadership in patient care and education. Proficiency in research design, biostatistics, and Microsoft Office.
