Reports to: Director of Visual & Performing Arts

Compensation: $40, annually

The Technical Theatre Teacher works an 11:00 AM‑7:00 PM schedule and is responsible for both elective class instruction and after‑school technical responsibilities. They will teach Middle School and High School electives, collaborate with the art department to create and teach the “Industrial Arts” curriculum, run a “stage craft” club, and support mainstage productions by supervising crew and technical aspects. Some Saturday workdays will be required.

• Write weekly lesson plans
• Grade materials in a timely manner and enter data into FACTS
• Provide consistent and regular feedback to students
• Communicate with parents regularly about student successes, challenges, and behaviors
• Follow school policies in the classroom
• Use Google Classroom and FACTS
• Plan and build sets for two mainstage shows
• Oversee students during construction and ensure safety rules are followed
• Manage project budgets and coordinate with VAPA admin team for orders and purchases
• Oversee crew and other technical production aspects to ensure shows run smoothly
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor

• Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Education, Technical Theatre, Theatre Arts, Secondary Education, or related field (or 5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
• Minimum of five years of experience in professional tech theatre, higher education, or related field
• Strong desire to work creatively with students
• Strong desire to win back the arts for Christ
• Spiritually mature Christian in agreement with the LMCM Statement of Faith; committed to the mission, vision, and core values of the LMCM Ministry
