Overview
This position involves teaching at Touro University Nevada, fulfilling duties aligned with the department, college, and University's mission through student education, scholarly activities, and service.
Adjunct Faculty are encouraged to engage in original research and scholarly activities with student collaboration. This is a 12-month appointment primarily focused on teaching and clinical responsibilities, with opportunities for research and institutional service.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an educator ensuring quality, integrity, and standards within your discipline.
- Develop and deliver content collaboratively with Program Directors and Department Chairs, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and the University’s mission.
- Maintain content expertise and contribute to curriculum development and delivery, integrating emerging knowledge and practical experience.
- Work effectively within a team to enhance curricula and foster innovation.
- Develop knowledge of various teaching and assessment methods, including simulation, online learning, and interactive scenarios.
Engagement and Representation
- Build partnerships and promote relationships within and outside the University.
- Represent the University at local, state, and national events, including conferences and community activities.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies as outlined in the Faculty Handbook.
Additional Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair.
Qualifications
Education:
- DO or MD degree required. Current board certification in a primary care specialty (Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Pediatrics). US citizenship or permanent residency required.
Experience:
- Experience in teaching osteopathic, medical, allied health, or graduate students. Knowledge of biological sciences, mathematics, chemistry, and related fields.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail are essential.
