Aboutthe School of Education at Nevada State
Nevada State, especially the School of Education, is an exciting place to work. More than 1,000 undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate students are currently pursuing licensure programs in elementary, special, & secondary education, and speech-language pathology. An Ed.S. program in School Psychology launched in fall of 2024 and welcomed its second cohort in fall 2025. Over the past decade, the School of Education (SOE) has made bold steps to address the need for locally preparing more teachers and speech pathologists.
The first master’s degree on campus, an MA in Speech‑Language Pathology, launched four years ago. Teacher Academies have been built in partnership with local high schools. Aligned and enhanced articulation agreements with Nevada’s two-year colleges have been forged. Extensive systems to support the success of SOE undergraduate and graduate students have been implemented. In 2021, the School of Education took another bold step in the early childhood education domain.

The program is housed in the Christenson Education Building and is thriving and meeting the needs and closing the gaps in the community.

The program includes a comprehensive blend of coursework, practicum experiences, and a full-year internship.
Our goal is to equip school psychology candidates with high-quality, practical experiences that prepare them to make an immediate and meaningful impact upon graduation. The program is fully accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and in…
