Specific Duties , Qualifications, and Responsibilities

Develop instructional plans tailored to meet the academic needs of all students.

Establish clear learning goals and objectives daily.

Follow and implement all school policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and School regulations for exceptional students.

Create individual education plans (IEPs) for exceptional education students in accordance with school procedures, NCDPI policy, and OCS regulations.

Coordinate testing and evaluation processes for program acceptance.

Represent Vance Charter at appropriate conferences and workshops.

Collaborate with relevant personnel in planning, modification, and construction of educational facilities and equipment as needed.

Attend monthly school staff and EC Department meetings.

Administer testing in compliance with NCDPI or national standards.

This position requires in-person attendance and is essential for daily school operations.

State Statutes and Duties

Teachers must adhere to the duties outlined in 115C-307, including maintaining order and discipline, promoting students' well-being, providing some medical care, teaching thoroughly, participating in professional growth plans, discouraging nonattendance, and making required reports. Teachers are also responsible for the proper care of school property.

Any violation of reporting requirements or misconduct may lead to legal consequences, including revocation of certification.
