About the Opportunity Austal and the Commonwealth of Australia are currently negotiating a landmark Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA) that will support the Continuous Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Enterprise and the delivery of multiple new defence force shipbuilding projects, such as Landing Craft-Medium and Landing Craft-Heavy for the Australian Army.

Once signed, the SSA will drive significant growth across our industry and workforce, as we deliver both existing and new programs under a long-term partnership. It will also enable the design and construction of vessels at our Henderson shipyard and marks a major step forward in establishing enduring shipbuilding capability within the Henderson Defence Precinct and across Western Australia. To achieve this, we are building a highly skilled team, to engage with local industry and supply chains, and work on complex, large-scale projects that reflect Austal’s proven capabilities and trusted performance.

The Integrated Logistics Support Lead is responsible for leading the planning, development, and implementation of a major Integrated Logistics Services (ILS) program.

What’s Involved Develop Integrated Product Support Management strategies and plans in line with Statements of Work and Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs).Establish and lead a multidisciplinary team of integrated product support practitioners.

Coordinate the integration of all 12 Integrated Product Support elements across program phases to ensure full lifecycle supportability.

Manage logistic support analysis (LSA) and technical data to guide design and sustainment decisions.

Collaborate closely with Program and Project Managers, Engineering and Design teams, Training Subject Matter Experts, Supply Chain, Suppliers, Subcontractors, and Clients.

Conduct LSA and trade-off studies to evaluate and recommend optimal product and service solutions aligned with sustainment metrics.

Identify and mitigate product support management risks and ensure alignment with readiness and cost objectives.

Report on performance to senior leadership and acquisition stakeholders.

Mentor and develop team members in Integrated Product Support best practices and tools.

You’ll Need Experience as ILS or IPS Practitioner, Product Support Manager or Project Management Proven ability to develop and lead multidisciplined teams

Exceptional communications and stakeholder engagement skills

Experience in Defence Sea and/or Land Materiel Acquisition projects

Knowledge of Australian Defence Contracting standards.

Understanding of Defence Capability sustainment

Tertiary Qualifications spanning more than one domain of Integrated Product Support
