Mechanical Engineer Henderson, WA About the Opportunity With new programs coming online, Austal are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Design team in Henderson, WA. The successful candidate will be a qualified Mechanical Engineer with excellent communication skills and a high level of commitment to assist with the design of our projects. Key objectives & responsibilities include

Design of vessel Auxiliary, Domestic and Propulsion Systems Preparation of design and drawings including calculations and schematics.

Selection and requisitions for Machinery, propulsion, power, process plants, systems, pumps etc.

Design in accordance with technical requirements (Specification, contract, and relevant rules).Design in accordance with Austal processes for safety, quality, budget, and risk mitigation.

Provide Design support through production, commissioning, and delivery. Skills and Experience Essential Australian  Citizen Hold a Construction safety induction (white card) Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent

Proven experience in the design of vessel systems Desirable5 years’ experience in ship design and construction Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
