Randstad is exclusively partnering with a premier boutique advisory firm in Henderson, NV on a search for their first-ever in-house Financial Controller. Our client is a high-energy, fast-paced firm looking for a hands-on financial leader to automate their systems and build a scalable finance function from the ground up, and grow into the future CFO.
Benefits: 100% Company-Paid Medical & Dental for Employee AND Family
Work Schedule: In-Office/Flexible Schedule
As the first full-time finance hire, you will have total ownership of the accounting and finance function.
Your key projects will include:
- Build the Foundation: Lead the transition of all accounting operations from their external CPA firm to a new in-house function. You will have full ownership to build, execute, and streamline the complete accounting cycle.
- Lead a Critical Systems Migration: Spearhead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of a new, sophisticated ERP system, leading the firm's migration away from Quick Books.
- Deliver Strategic Reporting: Design and build P&L reports by profit center (per client/mandate), tracking profitability, cost-to-search, and ROI for 30-50 concurrent deals.
- Manage Complex Compensation: Own, track, and manage the firm's complex, deal-based bonus and incentive spreadsheets to ensure 100% accuracy with payroll.
- Oversee Deal-Specific Entities: Manage the creation of new LLCs, maintain all cap tables, and handle the administration of co-investment vehicles (including capital calls and distributions).
- Serve as Finance Point-of-Contact: Monitor bank accounts for high-value deal closings and manage all multi-state tax and compliance matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Must be a "roll‑up‑your‑sleeves" professional, equally comfortable with high-level strategy and in-the-weeds daily accounting tasks (A/P, A/R, journal entries).
- Quick Books power‑user preferred. Demonstrable experience with a larger ERP (like Sage Intacct, Net Suite, etc.) is a significant plus.
- Experience leading a systems evaluation and implementation is required.
- Familiarity with financial services, professional services, M&A, or any deal-driven environment is strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of GAAP, month-end close, P&L reporting (by class/profit center), and payroll/bonus/commission tracking.
- A proactive self‑starter with high integrity, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision; must be able to handle highly confidential information.
