Thunderhawk is conducting a search for a leading entertainment and live events company to identify a Senior Accountant for its Consumer Products / Motorsports organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting and finance professional who wants to work at the intersection of consumer products, merchandising, motorsports and live entertainment
. Our client is a well-established organization in the live entertainment industry with a dynamic, fast-paced culture and a significant consumer products operation.

• The Senior Accountant, Consumer Products will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the company's Motorsports Consumer Products division.
• This is more than a traditional accounting position. The successful candidate will combine hands-on accounting with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and business partnership
  , working closely with merchandising, operations, finance and leadership.
• The position reports to senior finance leadership and is based on-site in Henderson, Nevada
  , with occasional work at event locations as business needs require.

• Lead key month-end close activities
  , including journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory analysis and event financial reporting.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and SOX requirements
  .
• Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and ROI analysis for consumer products and apparel licensing across multiple sales channels.
• Analyze P&L performance
  , including revenue, COGS, operating expenses, margins and other key financial drivers.
• Perform variance analysis and identify opportunities to improve profitability, control costs and optimize margins.
• Partner with business leaders on growth initiatives, pricing, margin strategies and overall financial performance.
• Support and help lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Analyze financial and operational metrics to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Improve processes around financial reporting, forecasting and licensing and royalty reporting
  .
• Collaborate with merchandising, operations and other cross-functional teams.
• Mentor and support junior team members as appropriate.
• Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as business needs arise.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline
  .
• 4-7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  .
• Experience with in consumer products, retail, licensing or a related industry
  .
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Month-end close
• Journal entries
• Account reconciliations
• Financial reporting and analysis
• P&L analysis
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Variance analysis
  
  Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with royalty accounting, licensing, inventory, CPG or retail finance
    .
  • Experience with data visualization or business intelligence tools.
  • CPA and/or MBA.
  • Experience supporting consumer products, apparel or merchandising businesses.
