An Ophthalmic Assistant supports ophthalmologists in delivering eye care services. The position combines clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient practice operations.

7:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday (no weekends).

• Perform specialized eye exam testing while streamlining patient flow.
• Conduct diagnostic testing, including visual aids, OCT, and corneal topography.
• Provide phone support for prescription refill requests authorized by the physician.
• Educate patients regarding medication administration and pre‑ and post‑operative instructions.
• Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA guidelines, to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• One‑year experience in a customer‑facing position preferred.
• Medical‑related experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Proficient in using the internet.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Regular use of hands and fingers for handling or feeling tasks.
• Frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Close, color, peripheral, and depth vision; ability to adjust focus.
