Responsibilities
  • Customer

    Experience:

    Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Customer service best practices:
    Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
  • Customer relationships:
    Develops strong relationships with most valuable customers.
  • Operations:
    Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy. Review and comply with the Walgreens Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
  • Pharmacy duties:
    Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions. Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
  • Pharmacy safety and quality:
    Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures related to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
  • Cash handling and customer assistance:
    Responsible for registering all related sales on the assigned cash register, collecting and handling cash as required. Take customers to the OTC aisle when possible to assist in locating products. Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist’s personal attention, including those to physicians.
  • Claims processing:
    Process (correct and resubmit) manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Inventory and asset protection:
    Lead Pharmacy Department inventory management activities (ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals). Maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques and file claims for overages, shortages, order errors or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
  • Performance improvement:
    Assist and support Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in analyzing and seeking to improve pharmacy financial, customer service and inventory performance data; review Rx KPIs with Store Manager and Healthcare Supervisor.
  • Clinical services support:
    May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services including collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples and coordination of clinical services, Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
  • Community relations:
    Assist Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other health care providers, via medical provider detailing and outreach to health groups, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for growth opportunities.
  • Pickup program:
    Support execution of the Pickup program.
  • Maintenance:
    Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies and remains clean, neat, and orderly.
  • Team development:
    Coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the correct use of processes and tools to drive efficiency within the pharmacy.
  • Compliance:
    Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers. Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
  • Training & Personal Development:
    Maintain PTCB or ExCPT certification through the designated training program and/or required state certification/registration. Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager and acquire continuing education…
