The City of Henderson announces an examination to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Chief Labor Negotiator, a senior leadership role within the Department of Human Resources.
Under limited direction, the incumbent partners with the Human Resources Director and the HR Management team to oversee employee and labor relations functions, serves as the chief negotiator in collective bargaining with employee unions, advises City leadership on complex labor and employee relations matters, and performs related duties as assigned.
Pursuant to the Henderson City Charter, this is an unclassified position not covered by the City of Henderson Civil Service Rules. Employment is at-will and may be terminated with or without cause or notice by either the incumbent or the City.
Salary and Benefits- Competitive Salary Range: $ – $ annually. Salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications and internal equity.
- Base Wage increase upon successful completion of Initial Probationary or Qualifying Period.
- Additional Base Wage Increase and/or Lump Sum Bonus.
- Work‑Life Balance:
Four (4)-Day, 38‑hour workweek (Monday to Thursday). - Paid Leave and Holidays:

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field.
- Seven (7) years of advanced‑level human resources experience, including at least five (5) years of employee and labor relations experience, with a principal negotiation role and demonstrated success.
- Must pass a nationwide fingerprint‑based record check and warrants check.
- Must complete Security Awareness and NCIC/NCJIS certification within six months of hire and be recertified annually.
- Desirable:
Juris Doctorate. - Desirable:
Master’s degree in a related field. - Desirable:
Experience working in multiple Human Resources functional areas. - Desirable:
Certification as an HR professional through the Public Sector Human Resources Association or SHRM.
