With a strong pipeline of projects and recent project awards, Civmec are expanding our internal HR/IR team to support continued growth and success across our operations.

We have multiple opportunities for experienced HR/IR Advisors and Senior HR/IR Advisors to join our dynamic team. These roles include office-based positions at our Henderson corporate office and project-based positions across the Perth Metro area.

Reporting to the HR/IR Manager, you’ll provide hands-on HR and ER/IR support to managers and employees, partnering closely with project teams to drive positive workforce outcomes and ensure compliance with company policies, agreements and legislation.

The Role
  • Provide expert HR and ER/IR advice to managers and employees, ensuring compliance with legislation, agreements, and company policies.
  • Manage obligations under ERMP commitments, including Indigenous workforce coordination and subcontractor ER/IR risk management.
  • Support performance management processes, including probation reviews, assessments, and demobilisation planning.
  • Conduct investigations and manage disciplinary processes, including written warnings and representation at FWC if required.
  • Deliver site HR/ER inductions, maintain accurate HR data in Success Factors, and compile required reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Engage proactively with site teams to build relationships, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage union relationships and interface, including right of entry compliance and liaison with clients and site teams.
  • Assist with coordination of personnel movement between projects and sites, including preparing change of conditions paperwork and employment contracts.
  • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and systems, and undertake special projects as needed.
About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Proven experience in HR Advisory roles with strong ER/IR exposure (construction, engineering or heavy industry advantageous)
  • Prior experience in a contractor environment within a similar industry.
  • Passion for HR and a commitment and drive to making a positive impact within operations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving, particularly in handling complex and sensitive issues.
  • Experience with HRIS (e.g., Success Factors) and sound reporting skills.
  • Solid knowledge of employment legislation and industrial instruments
  • Senior HR/IR Advisor applicants will demonstrate leadership in complex ER/IR matters, coaching managers, leading investigations/representations, and overseeing subcontractor ER/IR risk management.
