We are on our path towards becoming the Commonwealths "Strategic Shipbuilder" in the West, aiming to be in contract for the Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA).

The SSA will establish an overarching program which enables the design and build of vessels at the Henderson Shipyard. The objective of the SSA is to possess the capacity and capability to initially deliver Landing Craft Medium & Heavy for the Australian Army in supporting continuous naval shipbuilding in WA.The

SSA is about establishing the capability within the Henderson Precinct, and Western Australia, to continuously build vessels for the Commonwealth. It will be led by Austal, and will require the engagement of local industry, supply chain and workforce to be successful. About the Opportunity The Risk Management Lead is a key position within the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) and plays an integral role in the Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement Program.
Reporting to the Head of EPMO, you’ll lead the organisation in best practice risk management and culture establishment and ongoing development.  Specifically, you will have the opportunity to Establish and ope rationalise a compliant Risk Management Framework for the SSA.Provide expert risk management guidance to delivery leaders, programs, and projects.

Oversee risk surveillance, ensuring accurate tracking, assessment, and reporting.

Design, implement, and refine risk management practices in line with the Risk Management Strategy.

Develop and maintain risk management tooling and templates to enhance efficiency.

Ensure SSA risk processes align with the CASG framework and Austal Enterprise Risk Management framework.

This role is ideally suited to a seasoned risk management practitioner and leader who has established sustainable risk management and assurance practices for large organisations in a transformational environment. Skills and Experience Tertiary qualification in Risk Management (e.g. Cert IV, Diploma), Business, Commerce, Engineering Minimum 7 years of experience leading, facilitating and managing risk in complex organisational environments, including setting risk management strategies and the design and implementation of risk management practices, processes, and activities.

Design and application of a broad range of risk management methodologies and frameworks, according to business need.
