About the OpportunityJoin ASC in a pivotal leadership role as Submarine Manager
, where you will drive operational excellence and ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of submarine maintenance services for the Collins Class Submarine (CCSM) program. This role is critical to sustain Australia’s sovereign submarine capability and deliver “right first time” outcomes for our customer.
The position plays a key role in mitigating business risks while maximising opportunities for success through strong stakeholder engagement, proactive resource management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to ensure program, contractual and business outcomes are safely and efficiently delivered.
- Lead and manage ASC North & West Boat Teams, including Boat Managers, Superintendents, and STW teams.
- Prioritise labour and skillsets to meet operational requirements and customer expectations.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure resource availability and capability development.
- Oversee planning, execution, and closeout of all CCSM maintenance activities.
- Drive a culture of safety, quality, and performance improvement across Operations.
- Comply with all WHS policies and procedures and ASC’s Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Policy.
- Diploma-level qualification (or higher) in one of the following:
- Trade (e.g., mechanical, electrical, marine systems)
- Engineering (marine, mechanical, electrical, or similar)
- Business Management
- Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
