Electrician​/Maintenance Mechanic

Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Electrician is responsible for maintaining and repairing all existing electrical equipment in production areas and troubleshooting PLCs while ensuring all company safety rules and policies are followed.

• Comply with company safety policies
• Maintain and repair all existing electrical equipment in production areas and troubleshoot PLCs using ladder diagrams and schematics
• Utilize troubleshooting techniques to analyze, detect, and determine the nature of problems and the extent of repairs required
• Actively participate in the preventative maintenance program
• Perform electrical preventative maintenance of electrical control panels and equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety standards
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies using lean and 5S principles
• Follow and enforce company safety policies and procedures; operate a wide variety of manufacturing tools
• Collaborate with engineering on electrical upgrades and new equipment installs
• Operate mobile equipment (pallet jack, forklift, scissor lift, boom lift) as required
• Conduct electrical-related inspections and report findings accordingly
• Run conduit and terminate wiring in industrial equipment; interpret input/output modules; use tools and equipment safely
• Maintain a strong emphasis on safety and a safe work environment for self and others
• Other duties as assigned; regular attendance and scheduling flexibility

• Basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC hardware and software
• Basic knowledge of Siemens PLC hardware and software
• Basic knowledge of gas burner controls
• Good knowledge of Windows Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and motor controls
• Team player with reliability and high work integrity
• Good communication skills

• High School Diploma
• Certification in relevant skill or trade (Required)
• 1–2 years of experience in a relevant field

• Working near moving mechanical parts
• Exposure to loud noise
• Exposure to airborne particles within a manufacturing operation
• Lifting up to 50 pounds
• Climb and work at heights occasionally
• General manufacturing environment
• May require overtime; flexible to work any shift and/or weekends as scheduled
• Stooping, bending, walking, standing, sitting, reaching and climbing
• Move or traverse facilities and work around dust, chemicals, and other substances
• Wear required PPE (hearing, vision, hardhat)

$35.96 per hour

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. Pay is based on market data and may vary by location, knowledge, experience, and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company; sign-on payments and other benefits may be offered as part of a total compensation package.
