Pipe-fitter

RK Industries is hiring an experienced Pipe Fitter to support our prefabrication and industrial projects in Henderson, Colorado. This role is crucial in executing precise pipe layouts and assemblies from complex drawings, contributing directly to the efficiency and quality of our construction and fabrication operations. This is a full-time, 6-month contract with competitive pay, per diem, and a sign-on bonus.

The Pipe Fitter is responsible for interpreting detailed technical drawings and fitting piping systems to exact specifications. This role involves assembling, tacking, and preparing pipes for welding, often in coordination with welders, quality inspectors, and supervisors to meet strict safety and quality standards.

• Grinders and polishers
• Measuring tape, levels, and squares
• Power tools and pipe assembly equipment
• Ladders and lifts
• PPE (hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, respirators)
• Carbon steel and stainless steel pipe
• Pipe fittings and spools
• Welding rods and tacking equipment
• Quality control gauges
• Assembly supports and rigging materials

• Interpret isometric drawings, spool sheets, and blueprints to lay out and fit pipe
• Assemble and tack pipe according to precise tolerances for prefabrication
• Collaborate with welders and QA inspectors to ensure dimensional accuracy and fit-up readiness
• Operate hand and power tools to cut, grind, and align pipe components
• Maintain safety standards, wear proper PPE, and follow shop safety practices
• Support mentoring and cross‑training of junior team members
• Take direction from foremen, supervisors, and project leads
• Maintain clean and organised work areas aligned with RK’s 6S standards
• Comply with all safety policies and be empowered to stop unsafe work when necessary
• Complete job tasks to support project deadlines without compromising quality
