Education & Training Lead – Mars Henderson, Nevada, USA
Mars Petcare is looking to hire a Training Lead for our manufacturing plant in Henderson. The role focuses on implementing and sustaining training tools and systems within a LEAN/TPM and Autonomous Maintenance environment. The Training Lead will drive factory capability, knowledge capture, knowledge transfer, best practices, and vendor management to support world-class operating results.
Responsibilities- Implement and oversee processes in Factory Capability Framework, Knowledge Capture, and Knowledge Transfer work systems
- Maintain templates for skill matrices, closure analysis, and training plans
- Manage plant-wide skill matrices and role-based trainings
- Facilitate Training design and development with Subject Matter Experts (Operations, Safety, QF&S, etc.)
- Own the training programs at the site and administer Training processes
- Coordinate onboarding for new associates according to standard
- Collaborate with engineering/ops to update training manuals, standard work, and SOPs; align with the annual training plan
- Act as back-up lead for Education and Training TPM Pillar
- Become certified in owning areas and train operators on TPM systems and tools
- Provide training and coaching on Education and Training Pillar systems to TPM stakeholders
- Provide leadership feedback and performance coaching to associates involved in site education and training
- Hold others accountable to TPM standards; work with shift-based teams to align expectations and needs
- Manage vendor relationships relevant to the position
- Identify and adopt best practices across Mars through internal communities of practice for training systems
Minimum:
High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of manufacturing experience OR an Associate degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a technical field with 2 years in technical manufacturing OR a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a technical field with demonstrated communication and facilitation skills
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a technical field with at least 2 years in a TPM or Lean manufacturing environment, and administration-level skills using training/software platforms (including POKA, Weever, ZPI, and Power BI) with demonstrated communication and facilitation skills
Required Knowledge / Experience- Ability to work independently, be self-starter, and coordinate multiple projects
- Strong leadership skills with colleagues
- Ability to coach and work with individuals in small teams
- Ability to develop professional relationships with associates at all levels
- Clear and concise communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to learn and apply digital training technology (e.g., Poka, Weever)
- Working knowledge of TPM/Lean systems and tools
- Experience leading by influence
- Basic project management skills (project charter, schedule, closeout)
