An Ophthalmic Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting ophthalmologists in providing eye care services to patients. They assist with both clinical and administrative tasks, contributing to the efficient operation of the practice.
Work LocationsGreen Valley, Rhodes Ranch, Centennial Hills, Wellness Way, Pahrump, and Boulder City
Work Hours7am - 4pm, Monday to Friday – NO WEEKENDS
Roles And Responsibilities- Ability to perform specialized eye exam testing while streamlining patient flow.
- Other diagnostic testing such as:
Visual Aids, OCT, Corneal topography, etc. - Providing phone support with request for prescription refills as authorized by the physician.
- Educate patients regarding administration of medications and pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by physician.
- Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA guidelines, to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Assists with opening and closing duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
- One-year experience in a customer-facing position preferred.
- Medical related experience preferred.
- Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Proficient in use of internet.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Must frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
