Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgery

Reno, NV | Acute Care

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | 4x10-hour shifts, varied/rotating days of the week (Monday–Friday), call requirements

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients within the surgical department, utilizing the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Deliver individualized patient care and maintain accountability for patient outcomes across the entire episode of care
• Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems while demonstrating cognitive and psychosocial competency specific to the patient population served
• Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with internal and external contacts
• Exercise continuous clinical judgment and decision-making in a high-volume, fast-paced surgical environment
• May be required to float to other areas of the organization up to competency level, and may be required to work major holidays or pick up additional shifts based on departmental needs

• Active Nevada RN license required prior to start
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of surgical nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Additional lab work (CMP) required prior to start

• Experience in a high-volume, Level II Trauma Center or equivalent fast-paced acute care environment
• Familiarity with call shift requirements and rotating schedule structures
• Experience caring for a broad patient population including adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

• Opportunity to work in an extremely busy, high-acuity surgical environment at a Level II Trauma Center serving a wide regional area, offering valuable professional growth and experience
• Expected 40 hours per week within a structured 13-week contract assignment
