Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Maria Parham Health, Henderson, NC
Maria Parham Health, a Lifepoint Health medical group, invites applications for a full‑time Respiratory Therapist. Working full‑time (3 days, 12 hour shifts per week), you will provide essential respiratory care in a supportive, patient‑centered environment.
ScheduleFull‑time (3 days x 12 hours per shift per week)
Responsibilities- Examine patients with breathing‑related conditions and conduct diagnostic testing.
- Consult with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Perform respiratory therapy and other treatments, including physiotherapy and medication teaching.
- Measure lung capacity, analyze blood gas samples, and operate ventilators, CPAP, aerosol therapy, MDI therapy, pulse oximetry, ETCO2 monitoring, oxygen therapy, and pulmonary function testing.
- Deliver therapy per care plans, monitor response, record findings, and communicate patient status.
- Evaluate respiratory policies and procedures, incorporating current research and best practices.
- Respond to code situations and emergency calls, assessing and treating patients as needed.
- Educate patients and families about illness, care plans, and community resources.
- Manage, inventory, and distribute respiratory supplies, medical gas cylinders, and equipment.
- Maintain equipment storage, calibrate machines, conduct preventative maintenance, and sterilize equipment.
- Use the computer system to document therapy, place orders, and charge services.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in Science or a graduate of an Advanced Practice Level Respiratory Care Program.
- Active and valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association) required upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within six months of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification preferred.
