Job Accountabilities (Responsibilities)- Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples.
- Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems.
- Perform accurate data entry for patient registration and test orders.
- Enter billing information and collect payments when required.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as needed.
- Manage daily iLabs account data to support billing.
- Provide CIR and PPE resolution reporting to the Director as scheduled.
- Execute departmental clerical duties such as inventory, stock supplies, and answering phones when needed.
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain signatures post-venipuncture.
- Assist with monthly statistics and data submission.
- Maintain phlebotomy logs, including maintenance and temperature logs, in a timely manner.
- Complete training courses and keep up-to-date with the latest phlebotomy techniques.
- Travel to Territory Manager meetings if held off-site or outside normal shift.
- Participate in special projects and teams.
- Stay up-to-date on company communications.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Committed to MAKO policies and procedures, including dress code and health & safety.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record when applicable.
- Superior customer focus and transparent communication with peers, supervisors, and patients.
- Knowledge of MAKO business and ability to embrace change.
- Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1–40 lbs) with occasional lifting over 41 lbs requiring assistance.
- Sit or stand for long periods, requiring sustained eye, hand coordination, and repetitive tasks with the dominant hand.
- Travel, extensive phone and PC use, fine dexterity, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
Keyboard/data entry experience.
