Certified Medical Assistant
Reports to:
Practice Manager. FLSA:
Non-exempt.
In 60 days of hire, obtain a license as a CMA, RMA, or CCMA via AAMA or NHA. Within 30 days of hire, achieve Basic Life Support (BLS).
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred.
Critical thinking, decisive judgment, the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Responsibilities- Assist with patient assessments and treatments under supervision of a physician or nurse.
- Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
- Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
- Document patient care provided.
- Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintain examination areas.
- Perform administrative or clerical duties: filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
- Exhibit exceptional customer service with patients and teammates.
