Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring ACLS, BLS, NIH certification, and prior travel nursing experience.

• Work in a 48-bed Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Typical patient ratio is 1:6
• Primary patient population includes adults
• Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• No call requirements
• Floating is rare but may include inpatient rehab or the ER for tasks
• Uses Paragon EHR system
• Be prepared for a fast-paced environment with a high patient turnover
• Team support and collaboration expected within the Med/Surg unit
• May need to float to cover other units depending on facility needs
• COVID vaccination card required
• Scrub requirements and holiday coverage not specified

• Active NC or compact RN license
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience and completion of at least 1 travel assignment
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Ability to start IVs, insert foley catheters and NG tubes
• Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time
• Permanent address must be at least 60 miles from the facility
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• RQI certifications are not accepted
