American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring at least 1 year of experience and NIH Stroke Scale certification.
Details- Medical Surgical Combination unit in a hospital setting
- 48-bed unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
- Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Weekend hours as needed, every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Rare floating possible to inpatient rehab or ER to task
- Uses Paragon EHR
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
- At least 1 completed travel assignment required
- Skilled in starting IVs, inserting foley catheters, and inserting NG tubes
- Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips required
- Experience with 1:6 patient ratio and high patient turnover preferred
- Work at a Joint Commission accredited Duke Lifepoint hospital with an 'A' Leap Frog Hospital Safety Rating
- Facility features the region's largest and most comprehensive ED and freestanding ED
- Facility includes the largest and most advanced ICU and PCU in the region
- Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
